If you're planning a private hibachi event, pricing is probably one of your first questions — and a fair one. Unlike a fixed restaurant menu, private hibachi pricing depends on a few moving parts: how many guests you're feeding, which proteins you choose, and where in the Chicago area your event is taking place. This guide breaks down exactly what goes into the cost, what's included, and what additional fees to expect, so you can plan your budget with confidence before you book.

Factors That Affect Pricing
Guest count
The number of guests is the biggest factor in your total cost. Private hibachi is typically priced per person, so a small backyard dinner for 8 will cost less overall than a large family reunion or corporate event for 40. Larger groups often make more efficient use of the chef's time and setup, but the total price will naturally scale with headcount.
Protein choice
Menu selection has a direct impact on pricing. Options like chicken, tofu, and vegetables are more budget-friendly, while premium proteins — filet mignon, lobster, scallops, and shrimp — cost more per portion. Many guests mix and match, choosing combos like Chicken & Shrimp for some plates and Filet Mignon & Lobster for others, which allows a group to balance cost across the table rather than paying a flat premium rate for everyone.
Distance from base location
Because the chef travels to you with a full mobile setup, location matters. Events within our base zip code are priced without extra travel cost, but a travel fee applies for locations further out — this covers the cost of transporting the grill, ingredients, and full setup to your address, whether that's a backyard in the city or a suburb further from our home base.

What's Included in the Price
A private hibachi booking is designed to be a complete, hands-off experience for the host. The price generally includes:
The chef and the live cooking show — your chef arrives with the grill and cooks the full meal in front of your guests, including the classic hibachi tricks and presentation.
All ingredients — proteins, vegetables, fried rice, noodles, soup, salad, and our signature dipping sauces (ginger sauce and yum yum sauce) are all provided.
Full event setup — tables, chairs, linens, plates, and utensils are included, so you don't need to rent or provide your own dining setup.
Cleanup — once the meal is finished, the chef handles breaking down the grill and cooking area, so there's no cleanup left for the host.
In short, guests bring the space and the company — everything needed to cook, serve, and clean up the meal is handled by us.
Additional
Rescheduling
If your plans change, a 48-hour notice is required to reschedule your event, and a rescheduling fee may apply. Because the deposit is non-refundable, we recommend confirming your date and guest count as early as possible.
Special requests
If anyone in your group has food allergies or specific dietary needs, let us know before the event. This doesn't typically add to the cost, but early communication helps us prepare the right ingredients and substitutions.
Get an Exact Quote for Your Event
Because pricing depends on guest count, menu selection, and location, the best way to get an exact number is to reach out with your event details. Schedule a free consultation or book your date today, and we'll walk you through pricing based on your specific group size and menu choices.
